U10

  • The organization’s youngest Preds are looking forward to kicking off their regular season. The U10s are learning the speed of the AAA game and the importance of teamwork.

  • The team had a successful Tag Day fundraiser in June at Sobeys in Gravenhurst.

  • The team bonded at an Exhibition Weekend in North Bay in September, where they clinched their first win

 

U11

  • On September 22 the U11s headed to North Bay for an Exhibition Weekend. The Preds faced off against teams from New Liskeard, Sudbury and North Bay and come home with a decent showing of 2-1-1.

  • The Exhibition Weekend included some fun for the players and parents including a hotel scavenger hunt, encouraging everyone to work together toward a common goal, just as the players are expected to do on the ice.

  • The team has also faced off against the Central Ontario Wolves for exhibition games during the preseason.

  • From October 20-22 the team will be in Kitchener for the Kitchener Oktoberfest Tournament.

 

U12

  • On September 9 the U12 players and coaches traded the ice for the beach when they travelled to Muskoka for a team building weekend. The players spent time building leadership skills and developing trust in one another through fun team activities. The U12 moms took the opportunity to have their own team building event that weekend and went out for a pre-season dinner.

  • The team will spend Thanksgiving weekend together at the EHF Fed Series Tournament in Marlboro, MA from October 6-9.

  • From October 20-22 the team will be in Barrie for the Barrie Peewee Challenge Cup.

 

 

U13

  • The U13s have been busy fundraising during the off-season. Players hosted a silent auction, collected cans at the Tall Pines Festival, and earned tips as Celebrity Servers at Boston Pizza.

  • Players attended a Training Camp Weekend in August at Rotary Place in Orillia where they focused on-ice and off-ice training as well as team building games like soccer and flag football.

  • Exhibition games have included games against the Barrie Colts and an exciting double-header against North Bay.

  • From October 20-22 the team will be in Barrie for the Barrie Peewee Challenge Cup.

     

U14

  • The U14s held a “Friendship Series - Preseason Tournament” with the Grey Bruce Highlanders on September 23-24. The weekend turned out to be a great team-building experience.

 

 

 

U15

  • The U15s enjoyed a Muskoka Hockey Weekend at the end of August. The players had their first practice, participated in team building events and played exhibition games against teams from North Bay and Oshawa.

  • On September 16 the team travelled to the Sudbury Showcase and kicked off their season on a high note, coming home with a 3-1-0 record.

  • To commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation the team participated in the Orange Jersey Project and learned about the Mohawk language.

  • The regular season will kick off on the road on October 6 in Oshawa followed by a game in Kingston. The road trip will continue to Canton, New York where players will get a glimpse of the NCAA pathway. The team will get a tour of St. Lawrence University and Appleton Arena and will watch the D1 St. Lawrence Saints face off against the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers. This hockey experience weekend will be a great start to the season.

 

U16

  • The U16s participated in the Toronto Titans Tournament from September 25-October 1.

  • The team will be in London from October 6-8 for the Wendy Dufton Memorial Tournament.

 

U18

  • The U18s finished their pre-season exhibition game schedule with a 3-2-0 record.

  • On September 23, the team chose their first game at the Rama MASK to participate in the Orange Jersey Project. The team was honoured to have Chief Ted Williams say a few words before the game and lead a ceremonial puck drop. Long time NCP player Cullen Henry read a land acknowledgement in recognition of the organization’s appreciation to the Chippewas of Rama who allow us to play the game we all love on their traditional lands. A donation table collected over $400 that will be support youth hockey in Rama. The team wishes to thank all of the families who joined them in wearing orange to the game, to recognize the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day (September 30).

  • The team will travel to the Ottawa Senators AAA Showcase from October 12-15 for their first tournament of the season.

  • All registration fees were due by October 1, 2023.

  • Thank you to families for joining the Nutrition Seminar on September 9.

  • Dialogue with the Executive – The NCP Executive invites all of our families to ask questions about how our organization makes decisions that impact our ability to provide a quality experience for our athletes.
