Team Competes Against the Best
Following up a successful run to the quarter finals at the Whitby Silver Stick in November, the Minor Bantam team ended 2013 competing against top teams at the Toronto Marlboro International Holiday Classic tournament, making it to the semi-finals out of a pool of 38 teams.  The boys worked hard at both of these tournaments, which pitted them up against high ranking teams from Ontario and the United States.  

At the end of November, the team competed at the Whitby Silver Stick in a strong group of the top 25 teams from across Ontario and the US.  In their first game, the boys faced the Mississauga Rebels, a team that sits at the top of the GTHL standings, and allowed only one goal against to take their only loss in the round robin.  They went on to beat the Central Ontario Wolves with a 7-3 win, the Long Island Royals 6-3, and the Boston Minutemen Flames 5-1.  With their record, the Predators made the quarter finals and went up against the number one team in the US, the Chicago Mission.  Unfortunately, they were unable to get on the board and loss 5-0.

At the Toronto Marlboros International Holiday Classic at the end if December, started off with a solid win against the Vaughan Kings with a score of 6-0, followed by a second win against the Niagara Rivermen 4-2.  The next morning, the Predators faced the Nickel City Sons and were handed their first loss with a score of 6-1.  The team bounced back and topped the Toronto Jr Canadians with a 5-3 win.  This put the Predators into the playoffs against the Quinte Red Devils, which they won with a shut out of 4-0.  Moving in to the quarter finals, the team played the Dallas Stars the same afternoon winning 3-1.  In the semi-finals, they faced the Toronto Marlies and ultimately loss with a score of 6-1. Congratulations to the boys who worked extremely hard and showed their competitors their ability to perform at high levels and succeed as a team!
