The Kelsey's Minor Midget Predators spent their thanksgiving weekend in London participating in the Wendy Dufton Memorial hockey showcase tournament. This was the teams second tournament of the season coming off a strong showing in the Toronto Titans early bird Showcase in September.

The Preds carried their momentum into day 1 from a strong start to their year with a tie vs the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies and an impressive win over the Cambridge Hawks.
Poised to follow up their great start in day 1 the Preds faced a Buzz saw in the the Toronto Red Wings Saturday afternoon. The game was tight until mid way when the red wings broke the ice and the Preds weren't able to slow them down after that. The Preds took their 1-1-1 record into an evening matchup vs the Huron Perth lakers which was played in the 10 thousand seat beautiful Budweiser Gardens. The Preds may have a had a turkey lunch with not being able to get on the board early vs the Lakers and falling behind 1-0 into the third period. Brad Brown tied the game late third after the Preds finally woke up and started to tilt the ice vs the lakers. The elimination game wasn't able to be settled in regulation time and stayed 1-1 into sudden death 3 V 3 OT where Eric Moreau played Hero, unleashing a cannon from the from point top corner on the Laker goalie.

The boys were back riding high and excited to face one of the top teams in the province early Sunday morning, the Brampton 45's. This was a rematch from the Early bird tournament in September but this time it went the 45's way and the Preds run was over and they were home in time for Turkey dinner Sunday night.  All in all an excellent showing in their first two tournies of the year and they are all looking forward to travelling to the Bauer World Invitational taking place in just 3 weeks time in Chicago, Illinois.

The Preds get back to work this weekend at home in their ETA league play facing two tough matchups with ETA east Peterborough Petes and Kingston Frontenacs. The Preds are currently 2-2-2 in the very strong ETA West which is good for tied for 2nd with the Barrie Colts. Come out and support this exciting group of young players this Saturday in Rama at 7:15pm!
