Strong Start for the Minor Atom Preds
With the start of the 2016-2017 hockey season comes the introduction of the newest (and youngest) North Central Predators. The Minor Atom NCP team emerged into a most busy September, with a flurry of exhibition games. Despite the newness of the team, they have already proven themselves to be fierce competitors; leaving their opponents asking, "Where did they come from?"

The regular season kicked off with their home opener on Friday September 16th with a solid win against the Richmond Hill Coyotes, followed by 3-2 loss on the Saturday to Peterborough, and lastly with a tie on Sunday in Little Britain vs. COW.

That then led into two consecutive weekend tournaments; The London Jr. Knights Tournament followed by The York Simcoe Express Tournament to close off the month of September. If the competition hadn't heard of them by then, they certainly have now! Despite losing in the YSE semi-finals early Sunday morning, the team fought hard the entire weekend, proving themselves to be strong and commanding their opponent’s respect. In the tournament's semi-final game early Sunday morning vs. The Toronto Young Nats, The Predators played a most exciting performance. Down 5-0 at the start of the 3rd period, the young Preds showed The Toronto Young Nats they were only just waking up! In a matter of minutes in the 3rd, The Predators brought the score up to 5-4, where they respectfully finished. They simply ran out of time. Despite the loss, the team walked away with their heads held high, knowing that they would get them next time!

The Minor Atoms play next this Saturday October the 8th against The Oshawa Generals. Come cheer them on at 2pm in Rama!
