Big Home Weekend vs Eastern Opponents
This past weekend found the Elmvale Home Building Centre North Central Predators Minor Peewee team at home vs. two East division rivals in the Central Ontario Wolves & Quinte Red Devils.
The Predators would find themselves facing off against Central Ontario Wolves Saturday afternoon. North Central would quickly open the scoring less than a minute into the contest. The Wolves coming into this game with a couple wins on the season would quickly reply with a goal of their own less than a minute later to tie the game. Central Ontario would take the lead just under a minute later. This was looking like it was shaping up to be a shootout between the two teams.
Both teams would settle in and end the first with the score 2-1 in favor of the Wolves. NCP would find the back of the net late in the second period to tie the game. The Predators would continue to work hard in the 3rd period and find the back of the net two more times to take the 4-2 victory.
Sunday afternoon would see the Quinte Red Devils come into Rama hungry to get themselves a win on the season. The Predators still buzzing from the win the night before would find the back of the net in the second minute of play to take an early 1-0 lead. Midway through the first period North Central would find themselves on the score sheet once more taking a 2-0 lead. The second period would have both teams exchange chances however no one would find the back of the net. Quinte would get on the scoresheet just past the midway point of the third period. The late drive from the Red Devils would come up short with the game ending with a 2-1 victory for our Preds.
