Raiders Pillage
The Ajax-Pickering Raiders were determined to avenge an earlier 4-3 loss to the 2001 Predators and did just that in a 5-4 win played at the Ajax Community Centre Wednesday night.

A hungry Raiders team were a step quicker than our Peewee skaters all night leading them to a much deserved win. First year Predator winger Josh Brown displayed great hands and after burner speed in burying 2 goals to lead the NCP attack. Elmvale native Jacob Partridge once again proved to be an opportunist pouncing on a loose puck in the crease and depositing it into the net and Orillian Kobe Roe also bulged the twine in a nifty foot to blade manoeuver. Despite being outplayed on the night and with goalie Caden Markle pulled for an extra attacker, the Preds had three glorious opportunities to score in the final minute. Unfortunately the hockey gods did not send a bounce the blue and yellow way and the buzzer sounded giving the Raiders the win.

Next up for the 01's is a trip to Mississauga and The Co-operators Cup tournament which features 20 of the top 25 AAA Peewee clubs in Ontario during the weekend of Sept. 6-9.  The 01's will be tested throughout the round robin with games against the Vaughn Kings, Windsor Jr. Spitfires, Halton Hurricanes and the Brantford 99er's.
