As the team enter the halfway mark of the regular season they find themselves battling for playoff spot. As they took to the ice Sunday afternoon the team was one point out of the final spot.
A special thanks to the APs' who got some action over the past week.
At the halfway point the team sits one point behind N.S.E. with a league record of 5-11-1 for a total of 11pts.
Over the last 5 games the team has gone 2 wins and 3 losses. Although the numbers don't tell the whole story the team continues to show great discipline and work ethic. A game vs Oshawa saw the two teams trade goals back and forth and the Generals scoring late to take a 3-2 win away from the team. The Preds' then played league rival C.O.W. and would not let two points get away. A great effort from every player and a relentless forcheck lead to 3-1 win. The next two games didn't end as favorable as Coach Chris would have liked, but in games that the scores are not as close as the team would like you look for the positives. On Saturday the Preds' outshot Whitby in the first and most of the there shots came on the Powerplay. On Sunday vs Markham after the first it was 1-1 the second period was not as positive but a never quit attitude held Markham to a single goal in the third. In the last two games the team didn't quit regardless the score. As fans we need to look at that not something as simple as wins and loses.
It a journey not a sprint.
