Kelsey’s
Orillia Minor Midget North Central Predators AAA hockey team is off to a
tremendous start this season, going undefeated in their first 5 regular season
games, with only 2 goals scored against them.
The team is made up of players from across the region (Curtis Hanspiker, Luke Richardson, Jake Mooring - Barrie, Kole Scott - Orillia, Dallas Billson- Midland, Zachary & Ben Tupker -Collingwood, Kyle Heitzner – Orillia, Ryan Bell - Nobel, Jeb Paulsen, AJ Campbell - Hunstville, Matthew Priest – Minising, Andy Baker – Port Carling, Kam Shearer – Wyevale, Parker Bowman – Bracebridge, Matthew Prucha – Wasaga Beach, Kyle Chalis – Pefferlaw).
In their first game of the season against the Peterborough Petes, the team won with a solid score of 5-1. They followed this game with two shutout wins against the Ajax-Pickering Raiders and the Central Ontario Wolves (both with a score of 2-0). In their game against the Markham Waxers, neither team managed to hit the back of the net, ending in a 0-0 draw. In the final game to date, the boys played against the Clarington Toros, notching a 3-1 victory. Kelsey’s Orillia Minor Midget team now sits in first place in the ETA West standings and is looking towards the rest of the season and the upcoming OMHA Minor Midget AAA Showcase hosted the first weekend in December by the North Central Predators Organization at Rotary Place in Orillia.
