Minor Midget Predators have 4 point Weekend.
On Saturday Dec 11, The Kelsey's Orillia North Central Minor Midget Predators were at home to take on the visiting Richmond Hill Coyotes.  Allowing only a single goal in each of their previous 2 games the Predators looked to continue their strong defensive play when the puck dropped versus the Coyotes.

hockey_richmond_hill_coyotes.jpgBoth teams came out with energy and the pace of the first period was hectic.  Midway through the period North Central capitalized on a Richmond Hill turnover and made the score 1-0.  With time winding down in the period the Predators would once again find the back of the net and the period would end with North Central leading by a score of 2-0.  The second period was highlighted by great saves from both goaltenders. A late North Central power play goal ended the period with North Central up by 3.  The Predators strong defensive play continued in the 3rd period and limited the Coyotes to few scoring opportunities.  A late Predators goal would make the final score North Central Predators 4 Richmond Hill Coyotes 0.

The Kelsey's Orillia North Central Predators were again at the MASK in Rama, on Sunday Dec 12th, when theyhockey_petes.jpg faced off against the Peterborough Petes.  The Predators took the early lead when they beat the Petes netminder with an extra attacker on the ice for a delayed Peterborough penalty.  Moments later,  the Petes evened the score when an odd man rush ended with the puck in the back of North Central’s goal.  The teams would exchange more chances but the score after 1 period of play remained at 1-1.  Both teams were unable to take advantage of power play opportunities in the second frame. A late even strength marker from the Predators would be the only goal of the period giving them a 2-1 lead.  The third period was a defensive battle with neither team allowing many chances. Halfway through the period North Central snuck one by the Peterborough goalie and took a commanding 3-1 lead.  The Petes put on a late third period push but were unable to get the puck into the North Central goal. The final score at the buzzer was North Central Predators 3 Peterborough Petes 1. With the win the Predators league play record improves to 15-7-1, good enough for second in the ETA West standings.

The Predators will be at home again on Friday Dec 18th at 7:30 in Rama, when the Central Ontario Wolves come to town.
