Impressive Start to 2016/2017 season

The new look Major Peewee Predators started their 2016/2017 regular season against the 2016 OMHA champion Ajax/Pickering Raiders. The Predators came out a little slow but were able to withstand the intense pressure applied by the Raiders in the first five minutes to start creating some opportunities and change the momentum. Mitchell Webb in goal did a great job controlling the puck and making some critical saves including one breakaway stop. The Predators started the second period using their speed to overwhelm the Raiders in the neutral and offensive zones with a great breakout passing from Sam Trumble to Austin Holenski to Donald Hoskins for the first goal of the game. Later on in the period Robbie Rutledge stepped over the blue line and sniped the top left corner for a 2-0 lead. The Raiders showed their championship grit and scored their first of the game to end the period 2-1 for the predators. The Raiders continued the pressure with another goal early in the third period with both teams exchanging scoring chances for an exciting third period with the game ending in a tie. If this first game is an indication of the season the major peewee predators are going to have, it should be a very exciting season
