Predators Major Atom AAA Strong Showing in Peterborough Tournament
The North Central Predators Major Atom AAA team had a strong showing this past weekend, in Peterborough, at the Pat Larock Memorial Tournament. A solid team effort and continued improvement throughout the weekend kicked off the official start, in a promising way, to this teams introduction to the AAA loop.

Friday's first official tournament game for NCP Major Atom team was a tough draw, facing a strong opponent from Halton. The Hurricanes were held off, with grit and resilience, by the NCP side ending in a 1-1 draw midway through the 2nd period. The final score of 5-2, in favour of Halton, was no indication of the fight NCP gave their opponents. The second game on Friday proved the team has what it takes to win and pulled off a 3-1 victory against the Guelph Gryphons, who were part of last years OMHA Championship tournament. NCP fought hard and never backed down.

Saturday turned into an exciting 2 game series, showing the Major Atom AAA teams from Waterloo and Oakville that NCP are here to stay and a team they won't forget. A nail biter first game vs. Waterloo Wolves, who were eventually tournament finalists, came down to the wire, as the Wolves slipped one in late in the 3rd period for a 1-0 win. NCP Major Atoms came out fighting stronger in their 4th and final game of the tournament against an established Oakville Rangers side. Taking a 2-0 lead early in the game, NCP were relentless at both ends of the ice and played their best hockey together with a 3-2 win over the Rangers.

The record of 2 wins and 2 losses for their first tournament of the season and their career as a team is a definite sign that NCP Major Atom AAA are ready to compete with heart and determination. An amazing effort from all the players including our goalies, Colten DR & Jensen H, who had some fantastic saves throughout the weekend. Our tenacious defenders, Logan S, Michael D, Josh H, Simon S and Chase B and our speedy, creative forward lines of Wyatt W, Caden T, Marcus P, Ethan P, Devon F, Nate F, Ethan L, Max S and Luca P.
Great jobs boys...you made us all proud. A big thank you to our coaching staff and managers who continuously work hard for this team.

We can't wait for the regular season to start and watch you grow and develop as a team. This weekend proved anything is possible with heart, hard work and always team fun!
GO PREDS GO!!!!
