The Mclean & Dickey Insurance Major Bantam
Predators closed a successful 2017 year by attending the Toronto
Marlboros Holiday Classic tournament.
The tournament consisted of a lot of the top teams in both the US and the Canada. A successful tournament allowed the Preds to go into the Holiday shutdown on a positive note, also maintaining a firm hold on first place of the ETA West division.
Going through the Round Robin portion of the tournament the team exhibited skill and heart that resulted in a 3 – 1 record which propelled them into the Elimination Round of the tournament. To get here they beat the Vaughan Kings, Kitchener Rangers and the Mississauga Senators. The elimination game found them matched up against the Markham Majors, controlling the game from the outset they cruised to a 4-1 win. That victory put the Preds in unchartered territory, making it to the Quarter Finals. They were in tough against North York Rangers and the game was tight the entire way. A very close game, but they came up short losing 4-2 (en).
The success at this tournament is a result of hard work.
