Team Building in the "North"
Your GWS Logistics Minor PeeWee North Central Predators took part in Team Building activities in North Bay on the August 26-27 weekend.

Your GWS Logistics Minor Pee Wee North Central Predators took part in Team Building activities in North Bay on the August 26-27 weekend.

The weekend started with an hour practice on Saturday, led by OHL North Bay Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler.  The players arrived at the Memorial Gardens (their home for the weekend) early and very excited to be put through the paces by an OHL coach.  After an hour of skating, passing, and shooting drills, the players were given a tour of the Battalion change room, as well as the players’ lounge and fitness room.

Many thanks to Stan Butler for taking the time to organize a practice, show the players the Battalion room and continue to watch the players throughout the weekend during their games and activities away from the arena.

Later on Saturday, the Minor Pee Wee team played an exhibition game against the North Bay Trappers Minor Pee Wee.  This was the team’s first game since tryouts, and it was great to see the effort and enthusiasm displayed by the players.

After the game, the players went back to the hotel for a swim and team dinner.

Sunday morning was early, as the players hit the shores of Lake Nipissing for a War Canoe paddle, and lesson on teamwork, as well as try their abilities with Kayaking.  Although the players got wet, it was great to see their smiles and determination in a new activity.

The players didn’t get much time to dry off, as it was back to the Memorial Gardens for another exhibition game, this time against the Central Ontario Wolves Minor Pee Wee team.  These two teams last played at the end of tryouts in April, and it was great to see the competitive juices between these two teams continue.

Following this game, the players had some time to explore the Memorial Gardens arena and play some field games during the afternoon.  It was evident, that the players were having a lot of fun, and were getting a little tired from their busy weekend, when they played their last exhibition game of the weekend against North Bay once again later Sunday afternoon.

Thank you to the coaching staff for arranging such a fun and exciting weekend for the players and providing them with the opportunities to grow together as a team.

Each game during the weekend started with the National Anthem, was full of music after whistles, and concluded with a Player of the Game.  Thank you to the North Bay Minor Pee Wee team for their hospitality and inviting us to participate in some Exhibition games to start the season.
