Getting things Started
The Elmvale Home Building Centre Major Atom AAA Predators wasted little time getting the team ready for the start of the season. Followed by a high tempo training camp last weekend the team held their first practice on Sunday. This was followed by our first exhibition game on Tuesday vs. the Don Mills Flyers at the Sports Village in Vaughan.
The outcome of the game may not be what we would had hoped for going into the game. We played against a strong Don Mills team that came out aggressive and ready to play. This was a great experience for the new players to learn and understand the speed of the game at this level of play. The returning players from last year have been remembered of how fast this game can be played and the compete level that is required in order to be successful. We have a great group of players that want to learn and develop and this experience has only provided us with that drive to want to work harder and increase our compete level.
The coaching staff now has a couple weeks to work with the players and put them through the drills before our home and home series against the Grey Bruce Highlanders coming in early September.
