Working hard pays off
We continue to work hard in practice and all that hard work is starting to pay off.
The Elmvale Home Building Centre Major Atom AAA Predators came into the weekend wanting to keep the same level of compete level as they provided last weekend in the game vs Oshawa. We had a tough divisional rival in the Markham Waxers visiting the Rama arena on Sunday.
Markham was coming into our building off a big victory the night before and was looking for the same result in facing the Predators. We would see both teams coming out strong with Markham finding the back of the net first to take an early 1-0 lead. The Predators would quickly react and tie up the game less than a minute later.
North Central would kill off a few penalties in the second period, as the second penalty would expire the puck would bounce loose out of the zone springing the team on a breakaway and capitalizing on the opportunity to take the lead. We would add a third goal at the midway point of the 3rd period from some hard fore-checking which would provide us with the 3-1 lead. Markham would pull the goalie late in the 3rd in hopes of being able to pull off the comeback, however the Predators would find themselves with an open net in which we would score our 4th goal to seal the victory 4-1.
