Home weekend Success
The Elmvale Home Building Centre Major Atom AAA Predators had back to back home games this past weekend and came out with two big victories.
The Predators would start the weekend off facing the Ajax-Pickering Raiders on Saturday afternoon. The team was ready and brought with them the same level of play we had seen all last weekend during the Vaughan Kings Tournament. We would take an early 3 goal lead just past the half way mark of the first period. The Raiders would find the back of the net in the last minute to make it a 3-1 Preds lead heading into the second period. We would quickly regain the 3 goal lead less than a minute into the 3rd period and would add another two goals before the end of the second. Both teams would find the back of the net in the 3rd period to round out the scoring. North Central would win the game 7-2.
Sunday afternoon we would face the Central Ontario Wolves in Rama. The Predators would get on the board early scoring a goal in the first minute of play. We would add a second before the end of the 1st period to take a 2-0 lead. The second period would find North Central continuing to put pressure on the Wolves scoring another two goals to take a commanding 4-0 lead. Central Ontario would find the back of the net in the last minute of the period to make it a 4-1 game. The Predators once again with their relentless effort would strike again quickly within the first minute of the 3rd period which would prove to be enough. North Central would skate away with a 5-1 victory.
We have a few more games coming up this week before we allow everyone to sit back and enjoy the holidays for a couple days.
