Nice Road Trip Weekend
The McLean & Dickey Insurance Major PeeWee team just completed their first 10 games of the 2018-2019 season.
Spending this last weekend travelling to Kingston and Belleville to complete their first 10 games, it was a great road trip for the players and the first time they got away and could hang out for the night. Yes, the time around the hotel trading hockey cards and swimming in the pool, playing football, and just fooling around away from the ice.
The first 10 games have been really exciting, and although the record may not reflect it, the team has had some very close games against some of the top teams in their age group. This tough start, has shown the players they must compete for an entire 45 min each game in order to come away with 2 points.
The team has begun to shore up some of their defensive game, and this was evident this weekend with 2 shutouts. Playing an aggressive Kingston team to a 0-0 draw and then defeating the defending OMHA Champions in Quinte
6-0 on Sunday afternoon. This tenth game against Quinte was a complete 45min effort, and displayed some great team work and hustle. It was a great night of team bonding, and it showed on the ice Sunday.
