Vaughn Kings Tournament
The McLean and Dickey Major PeeWee Predators travelled down the 400 Hwy this weekend to Vaughn to play in the Kings Tournament.

In their first game Friday morning, the team played a tight checking game against the Lambton Sting and came away with a narrow 2-1 victory.  After waiting 10 hours for their second game against Whitby, the team battled hard but fell 2-0 in another close battle.  Saturday morning, the Predators played the Toronto Red Wings.  The Red Wings were the top ranked team in the tournament, and were the eventual tournament Champions.  The boys were trailing 3-1 with 8 minutes left, but were determined to shed the underdog label and the taunting of the Red Wing players.  In a great flurry to end the game, the Team rallied for a 4-3 victory.
Following this game, a victory Saturday night, against a pesky and hard working Hamilton Huskies team, by a score of 2-1, and a tie by Lambton and Whitby, allowed the Predators to win their pool, and face Clarington on Sunday morning.
Some early penalties and power play goals by Clarington proved to be the difference, as the boys could not equalize the game late, and lost by a score of 3-2 and didn't advance any further into the tournament.
Although the team didn't advance, it was a great building block for the boys, leading into the rest of the season.
