The McLean & Dickey Major PeeWee hockey team travelled to Oshawa to end the Holidays from Jan 4-6.

The team had a great weekend, both at the hotel and at the rink, finishing with 6 wins and coming away with the Championship on Sunday.

In the first game on Friday morning, the team played the Timmins North Stars.  It was a great way to start the Tournament with a 6-1 victory.  The families then checked into their hotel, as the boys prepared for their second game against Nickel City Sons.  This was a close checking game, until later in the third period, when the Preds scored a couple late goals, and came away with a 5-0 victory.

In the third game on Saturday morning, the team played the Wheatfield Blades and came away with another 5-0 victory.

After a short turnaround, the players came prepared for their 4th game against the Central Ontario Wolves.  Needing a win to secure a place in the Semi-Finals, the team scored some timely goals, to come away with another 6-1 victory.

In the Semi-Finals on Sunday morning, the Preds battled a tough North Bay team.  With the score 1-0 midway through the third period, the boys scored a few late goals to skate away with a 5-0 victory.

This set up a rematch in the Finals against the Nickel City Sons once again.  This was another close game that saw both teams have many Power Play chances.  At the end of the game, the Predators were able to hold on for a narrow 2-1 victory, and the Championship Trophy.

Many thanks to the coaches and families for all their support and preparation throughout the weekend.
