Drew Doughty Tournament - London
This past weekend the Major Atom Preds travelled to London, for the Drew Doughty Ronald McDonald House AAA Invitational Tournament.
On Friday, September 20th, the boys took on Ottawa Valley Silver Seven, nerves seem to get the better of the team in the first period. The boys bounced back in work ethic and strength but still fell short. In game 2, vs. Don Mills Flyers, the boys came out strong in the first period, scoring the first goal but couldn't come back after a few goals against. Don Mills continued to climb and won the game. Saturday began with a confident Preds team, having a great game against the Burlington Eagles. Easily putting skills and strategies, learned in practice, to use and playing together, the boys solidified their 3-1 win. Game 4, the Waterloo Wolves, were tough and played their game well. Despite our best efforts, Waterloo overtook our Preds team.
The boys come away from this weekend with lasting memories and team spirit, as well a focus for upcoming practices to build upon the strategies and tasks put forth by the coaches. We look forward to tuesdays practise, where we can work hard and prepare for this weekends games.
