Scouting Symposium

On Friday February 22nd the NCOHA Predators will be hosting their "ScoutingSymposium". This year the seminar will be provided to the players and families offour teams: Minor Midget, Major Midget, Major Bantam and Minor Bantam.

Thesymposium will have two main components:

The OHL and You

6:00pm: this is an overview of the OHL recruitment, draft, and player development, delivered by Kyle Raftis.

Kyle Raftis is a former second round pick to the OHL and now serves as the Director of Recruitment, Education Services and Player Development.  Kyle will be addressing important issues for young players who aspire to play in the OHL or CHL while maintaining a positive and balanced approach to their education.

"Transcending the Hockey Recruiting Experience"

7:30pm: Darcy McConvey is a six year Professional Hockey Player in the United States and Europe and spent four years in the NCAA where he was the Captain of the Bowling Green Falcons. Further, he acquired a Bachelor of Finance Economics and a Masters of Business Administration. He was the Male, Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2004.

Darcy is passionate about hockey and academics. He will guide parents and players through the complex process of pursuing an academic and athletic career in the NCAA.

The event will occur at Georgian College in Orillia (in the theatre) on
Friday February 22nd from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
