Predator Preparations for 2011-2012

The NCOHA Predators have completed the coach selection for 2011-2012. The organization is extremely pleased with its selections, the process by which these selections were made, and the interest in coaching for the NCOHA Predators.

Here is an update of key dates, developments and actions in terms of our preparations for the upcoming season:

Contact Information for Coaches

The contact information for all NCOHA Predator coaches will be placed on the website by 25 February. Coaches may now reach out to individual players and families for the upcoming season as long as these families are located in the NCOHA Predator zone.


The NCOHA Predators Ice Scheduler is working with the arenas in our centre to complete the tryout schedule for April 2011. These tryouts will run from 11-24 April (approximately) and be posted by 10 March 2011. This will allow five weeks for preparation. Further, the Predators will run ads in local in-zone newspapers regarding the try-outs.

Coaching Meeting

In the second week of March, the NCOHA Predators will host the first of two pre-season coaching meetings. All coaches are required to attend. This meeting will address important issues such as: zone parameters; tryout selection; establishing appropriate tryouts; registration; impact of new OMHA regulations on our centre; rostering; parent/player contracts; exhibition games and spring play; best practices in pre-season administration; and additional factors such as pre-tryout camps and off-ice training.
