Great Teaching Tool
In early October, our North Central Ontario Hockey Association invested in a significant teaching tool designed to assist our coaches in their instruction of our hockey players. A large flat screen television with telestrator technology similar to what is used in NHL/NFL broadcasts and a fluid head camera were purchased for use by our 8 coaching staffs.

The purpose of this technology is to allow our athletes to review game tape with their coaches after games and practices with the goal of learning from the tape.

Along with acquiring the technology, our NCOHA has hired a videographer who is responsible for videoing each of our teams' home games played at Rama. Our coaches work with the videographer to discuss areas of emphasis for that particular team. For instance, a coach may ask that video focus in on special teams play....which will then become the priority for our video manager. Our coaches then review the tape and use it as a learning experience for our athletes.

Coaches participated in a tutorial on the use of the flat screen TV by Mr. Greg Reid, owner of Electronic Lifestyles in early October. The TV is stored in the recently refurbished coaching room at Rama and is being used by each of our teams.

We hope this investment will improve the development of all our players and the on ice performance of our teams.
