NCP 2020-2021 Season Update
The 2020-2021 season has been like no other, as COVID made everyone adjust how we live....our love of hockey was also impacted greatly. Our NCOHA organization found a way to begin the hockey season keeping the health and safety of all our participants as our top priority. We organized under the many guidelines set out by our Public Health Unit and Hockey Canada through our affiliation with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association.
It was the hard work of our coaches and families who made the first half of our season possible and successful under the circumstances. The Coronavirus continues to spread rapidly throughout our community forcing the Government to continue our Province's lockdown into mid February. Our organization received word earlier this week that the Band Council of Rama First Nation has decided to remove the ice from its facility at the MASK for the remainder of the season. With our facility closed for hockey and with an uncertain future with the direction of COVID restrictions, our NCOHA Executive have made the difficult decision to end the 2020-2021 season effective today. We know that this is difficult news to hear during an already difficult time. Our plan is to host tryouts in September as per OMHA guidelines and regulations for the upcoming season. We will share regular updates on our website as we move forward. We look forward to the fall when games and practices can once again fill our schedules and where we can all enjoy the game that we love so much.
