NCP U11 were the champions
Our U11 team participated in the Oshawa Challenge Tournament this past weekend where we came out of the tournament as CHAMPIONS!!!!  What a weekend for our players.  It was a very exciting tournament. Our team participated in the Oshawa Challenge tournament Friday, November 19-21st.  We won 3 out of 4 games in the round robin which seeded us first in our pool.  We headed to the semi finals at 8:15 am on Sunday morning where we were up against Peterborough Petes.

NCP was winning the game until Peterborough tied the game up with only 14 seconds left in the game which resulted in us going into overtime.  We played sudden death 4v4 for 5 minutes in which neither team scored which led to a second overtime of 3v3 for 3 minutes.  During this 3v3 one of our players received a penalty, causing the rest of the 3v3 overtime to be 3v2.  NCP successfully killed that penalty and neither team scored once again, leading to a 3rd overtime of 2v2.  NERVE WRACKING!!!!  NCP won the faceoff back to our second player on the ice who rushed the puck to Peterborough's end.  The Peterborough goalie came over to our player with the puck.  Our player made a beautiful pass across the front of the net to our second player who shot and scored to win the game with a score of 4-3!!!!Off to the finals we headed to verse Rideau St. Lawrence Kings at 1:00pm.  As the game began, we knew it would be a tough game, but our team was ready for the challenge.  NCP played a hard fought game showing grit, determination, and a 'no quit' attitude.  We scored first in the game to go ahead 1-0.  The Kings tied it up 1-1 and for the remainder of the second period and most of the third the score was tied 1-1.  Our goalie was on FIRE and made many amazing saves to keep us in the game.  With about 4 minutes left in the game, NCP scored to go ahead 2-1!  Our NCP team played the last four minutes blocking shots, playing strong defense, and doing what they could to maintain the lead.  As the seconds on the score board counted down, our players never stopped working and it paid off.  We WON the tournament!!!
