U-13 Coach Ostrom will Instill Tireless Work Ethic
The North Central Predators organization is excited to welcome 2023-24 U-13 Head Coach Sean Ostrom. He comes to the club with over 20 years of experience behind the bench and says he is looking forward to getting back to coaching AAA hockey.

Ostrom grew up in London, ON, and for 10 years (1999-2009) acted as the assistant coach to his father, for AAA teams with the London Jr. Knights. He then continued to coach at the AAA level with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones (2009-10) and the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs (2012-13). Before moving to Orillia he also spent two seasons with the London Bandits. Most recently he has enjoyed his time coaching teams in the Orillia Minor Hockey Association, including a competitive group of U-14s who were able to capture the coveted Red Hats at the 2022 OMHA Championships.

Coaching is most enjoyable for Ostrom when players are naturally competitive. I have always considered myself a AAA coach. I enjoy working with young athletes who want to improve their game – that leads to them wanting to get better and wanting to be coached,” he said.I am excited to work with this team because they are a lot closer to being competitive than their record indicates. Last year, they had many ties and games lost by one goal. Small improvements in performance can have a significant impact on their win-loss record.”

Ostrom plans to create an atmosphere of hard work, discipline and team unity - traits that he hopes will make the players all-around better athletes and people. He also plans to promote a winning mentality. “My goal for this team is to compete every single night. I want to establish a reputation as a team that cannot be outworked. If we do that, the wins will follow. We will play a simple system, but we will play it very, very well,” he said.

Coach Ostrom has attracted a tremendous local interest in his U-13 club based on tryout registrations to date. The evaluation process begins April 24 at The MASK!
