NCP Grads Punnett & Procyszyn Meet in OHL Playoffs
As the puck drops in North Bay between the Battalion and Barrie Colts Sunday night for the second game of their OHL playoff series, there will be a huge NCP presence on the ice.

2021-2022 OMHA player of the year and first round draft pick of the North Bay club, Ethan Procyszyn has excelled as a 16 year old in the OHL. The Wasaga Beach native contributed to the Battalion’s first round victory over the Steelheads with a goal and assist. Ethan has shown flashes of what will come for him in the future…he is a 200 foot player with outstanding skill.

Ethan also remembers his roots. On a recent exhibition tour to North Bay in mid-March, our U-10 NCP club had an exciting visit to their dressing room! Ethan came to watch our club defeat the North Bay Trappers and took the time to take photos with the kids and to sign all the sticks that they presented to him! Our youngest athletes were thrilled and inspired to hear from one of their own what is possible with hard work.

Opposing Procyszyn in this playoff series is Barrie Colt’s defenseman Connor Punnett. Connor is also a very accomplished NCP graduate who has made his name in the OHL over these past 3 seasons. While with NCP, Connor’s club was a perennial playoff contender capturing a bronze medal at the OMHAs, hosting the OHF championship in their U-15 year and earning a trip to the prestigious OHL Cup in his U-16 year.

This year, the Huntsville native has caught the attention of many OHL GM’s. In a recent poll of team general managers, Connor was voted as having the second  “Hardest Shot” in the OHL’s Eastern Conference and being that conference’s “Best Shot Blocker”. Impressive stuff from the ’03 birth year NCP grad!

We wish Ethan and Connor all the best as they compete in the OHL playoffs!
