The Border Battle Super Series
The Major Bantam competed this past weekend in the Border Battle - Super Series Event hosted by the Mississauga Rebels. Up against the top teams from the GTHL, OMHA, SCTA and the United States, the boys had the opportunity to show their stuff against the very best in the their age group.
They played the Toronto Red Wings in their first game securing a win with a score of 5-1. In the next match, the boys were up against the Toronto Marlboros and had it close until the third period, when the Marlies turned it up, finishing off the game 6-2. The next morning, the team played against the Buffalo Jr Sabres coached by Mike Peca and controlled the game ending with a score of 5-3. In their next game against the Los Angeles Jr. Kings, penalties and a called back goal caused some frustration and the boys could not seem to get a hold on the game, losing with a score of 6-2. In their final game against the Don Mills Flyers, the boys put in great effort against a strong team, but were not able to top them and lost with a score of 5-3.
It was an excellent opportunity for the Predators to be included in the Super Series and play against all of the top teams in the 2000 year! Good job boys!
