Season underway
With the preseason wrapped up, the team had circled Sept 19th from the first time they stepped on the ice as a team.
After an exciting and close playoff series last season Chris Biers and his team want to show Barrie that every game is going to be an exciting fast paced battle from the drop of the puck.
Pre-season saw the team finish with a record of 2 wins, a tie,and 4 losses, versus North Bay Markham and a tournament in Ottawa, in which each game was used to experiment and adjust line ups and postions.
The team used the tournament in Ottawa as a team building experience. The five new members are fitting in nicely and all showed moments of why they are part of the preds. Player of the games..Robbie Rutlege, Justin Therrien, Brady McLaren and Jack Thor.
As we grow as a team expectations will increase to improve over the 1-2-1 weekend. A big thank you to all the parents as everyone participated in the team potluck meals at the hotel, and to Amy Therrrien for organizing the details.
On Saturday the first of the regular season began with Barrie as the opponent, a slow start was costly. it was great to see the recovery to come back falling short 4-3.
Looking forward to seeing better starts to the games as we continue. The new kids are fitting in well and returning players are starting to understand the importance of positive leadership.
