A Busy December leads to a Busy January for Minor Atoms
The month of December proved to be a busy one for the Best Western Pus Mariposa Inn & Conference Centre Minor Atom team.

We kicked off the month with a shut out win on the road against the Oshawa Generals on Friday Dec. 2nd, followed by a 2-1 win against Quinte Red Devils on home ice on Sunday Dec. 4th.
The following weekend, the team had an exciting Saturday morning serving breakfast to the Rama First Nations community at the arena. The players had the opportunity to give back to the Rama community, while working together as a team serving and clearing tables. The team then stepped onto a team bus, (which was generously donated by Elmvale Home Building Centre) and traveled in style to Midland to dominate the Richmond Hill Coyotes in a 5-2 win.
The remainder of the regular season in December had the Best Western Pus Mariposa Inn & Conference Centre Minor Atom team on the road fighting hard, but coming up short. They then had only three short days off for Christmas before rebuilding themselves in time for the Richard Bell Memorial Tournament in Oakville Dec 27th-29th. In Oakville, the minor atoms faced some stiff (and new to them) competition. Despite losing three out of their four games, the atoms finished each of their games respectfully making their opponents fight hard for each and every win.
This coming Sunday Jan. 22nd, the Minor Atoms take to the big ice at the Barrie Molson Centre at 1:30pm, for The Start Talking Cup. Tickets cost only $2 each, with money raised going to support increasing awareness of the importance of mental health in the hockey community.
See you at the rink!
