Hockey is my passion!
As our family enters our 3rd season with NCP, I am thrilled to co-coach the U18 team for the 24/25 season alongside Jason. With over 18 years coaching experience spanning various levels from Novice to U18 and across different tiers from A to AAA, my involvement in hockey has been extensive. Growing up in Niagara Falls, I played AAA as a defenseman, adding a valuable player’s perspective to my coaching journey.
My commitment to the sport extends beyond coaching; I also serve as a level 3 referee at all levels & tiers of hockey during my spare time. Drawing from both my coaching journey and experiences as a player, I offer a well-rounded perspective on the intricacies of the game.
I have always been devoted to instilling essential life skills and fostering a well-rounded, team-oriented mindset. Coaching serves as my avenue to contribute to the comprehensive development of individuals, preparing them for success both on and off the ice.
When it comes to coaching, we plan to combine creativity and engagement during all our practices. Our years of experience have shown us that children need to be having fun, to effectively learn hockey skills and knowledge of the game. It is our belief that children should have coaches who ensure that their own love of the sport never takes priority over the athletes’ development and hard work throughout the season. We recognize that every athlete develops and learns differently. Our teaching and coaching experience allows us to adapt practices to accommodate any player on our team.
Our goal is to form a team with well-rounded individuals with a primary focus on teamwork. We will also strive to establish a strong relationship with every athlete and family on the team. To us, character is as important as athletic ability!

Although I am new to the North Central Predators organization as a coach, I am not new to coaching hockey. I have been coaching hockey for the past 20 years with both the boys’ and girls’ associations from mites to U18AAA. I am thrilled to co-coach the U18 team for the 24/25 season alongside Jeremy.
I have been fortunate to enjoy some success as a coach, winning a gold and three silver medals in the OMHA finals as well as a silver medal at provincials with the OWHA. I was a goaltender in my playing days for the local minor hockey association in New Liskeard. I went on to play Midget AAA (now U18AAA) for the New Liskeard Cubs and lost in the finals of the Air Canada Cup (now Tellus Cup), played junior hockey for the Lindsay Muskies and the Kitchener Dutchmen and finally a four-year career with the University of Waterloo Warriors.
Outside of hockey, I am a secondary school teacher. I teach French as a Second Language. As a secondary teacher, I believe that coaching is an extension of what I already do – providing students with the skills to succeed and developing their potential to be the best athlete and person they can be.
When it comes to coaching, Jeremy & myself plan to combine creativity and engagement during all our practices.
