Peewee Predators off to Solid Start
The Major Peewees began their 2013-2014 season strongly with wins over the Ajax-Pickering Raiders and the Oakville Rangers this past week.

In Gravenhurst, the Kevin Russell coached club started slowly showing some summer rust but came on strong as the game progressed to claim a 4-3 win. Excellent blue line play by Mitchell Russell and Nick Holenski and timely scoring were the keys to victory. Kobe Roe, Jacob Partridge and Calan Tanzi-Foshay (2) led the offense.

In Humphrey, Ontario strong netminding by Joe Howe and Caden Markle kept the blue and gold in the game early until the offense could get going enroute to a 4-1 win over the big Oakville Rangers. Both goalies made excellent saves to lead the way in the win. D-Man Bo Prentice was a steady influence along with newcomers Brad Brown and Ben Schryer who also played well on the back end. New forward additions Jacob Partridge and Travis Sawyer connected on a beautiful 2 on 1 to give the young Preds a 3-1 lead early in the third that was never relinquished. Speed merchent Kyle Kuznik provided his line with much needed energy. Feisty forward Phil Daoust and smooth skating winger Josh Brown created a number of great opportunities throughout ...one of which led to the opening goal by capitalist Will Prentice. Calan Tanzi-Foshay, on a set up from Kobe Roe and Gavin Courtemanche early in the 2nd gave the Preds the lead for good. Sawyer, with his second goal of the game, sealed the deal with an empty netter in the final minute.

Next up is a trip to Ajax for a second exhibition game with the Raiders on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
