ETA Playoffs - Game #3 vs. Richmond Hill Coyotes
The Best Western Mariposa Minor Bantam Predators were back on the ice on February 25th for game three of their best of five, first round series with the Richmond Hill Coyotes.
Looking to avenge a last second loss two days earlier, the Preds came out of the blocks looking strong and were rewarded early when Travis Sawyer potted a goal in the first to give the boys an early lead. Richmond Hill fought back with with an equalizer in the second to tie the game at ones. The game looked destined to head to the break that way but Kobe Roe was able to bang one by the Coyotes goalie to put the Preds back in the lead.
Richmond Hill came out in the third looking hungry for the tying goal. Goalie Joe Howe made a couple of great saves and the Preds D tightened up down the stretch to maintain the slim lead. Late in the third, Jacob Partridge netted a third Pred goal on the PP to salt the game away and allow everybody to take a sigh of relief. Adding assists on the night were Gavin Courtemanche, Brad Brown and Will Prentice. A.P. players Eric Moreau and Ben Price filled in admirably for our suspended players and both brought a much needed physical presence to the lineup.
Up next for the Preds is a chance to put the series away on home ice on Saturday February 28th.
