ETA Playoffs - Game #5 vs. Richmond Hill Coyotes
The fifth and final game of the first round ETA series between the Richmond Hill Coyotes and the North Central Predators minor bantam teams took place on March 1 in Richmond Hill.
The Preds headed to Richmond Hill hoping to continue the trend of the visiting team winning each game in the series.
The boys looked very determined and carried the play for the first half of the game. Despite the advantage in play, the Preds couldn't solve the Coyotes goalie and actually trailed 1-0 halfway through the second. With things looking grim for the Preds, they took a penalty late in the second to give the Coyotes and chance to add to their lead. Brandon Small made a couple of nice saves and Jacob Partridge broke away and scored a shorthanded marker to tie the game going into the break. This seemed to give the Preds the extra boost of energy they needed going into the third. Jake added a second midway through the third and the Coyotes had trouble matching the Preds intensity. Travis Sawyer and Eric Moreau played very physical games adding to the Preds energy down the stretch and Brandon Small was unbeatable in goal. With the net empty, the Preds pumped in two more goals in the closing minutes to salt away the game and secure a convincing 4-1 victory.
With series one in the books, the Preds are confidently looking forward to the second round on their quest for an ETA championship.
