Northern Fall Classic Tournament Champions
The GWS Logistics Minor PeeWee Predators Captured the Northern Fall Classic Tournament in North Bay.
The GWS Logistics Minor PeeWee team competed in the Northern Fall Classic held in North Bay from Oct 13-15. It was a great opportunity for the families and players to get away for another weekend of hockey.
The team played their first game Friday afternoon against the Soo Jr.Greyhounds and displayed some great passing and came away with a 7-1 victory.
In their second game game Friday night against the Nickel City Sons, the players continued their aggressive play, and came away with a 4-1 victory.
A win Saturday morning by a score of 4-1 against the host North Bay Trappers, saw the Predators get a bye to the semi-finals Sunday morning against the Soo Jr. Greyhounds once again. With the rest of Saturday having free time, the team spent the day playing in some of the beautiful local parks, swimming, and having a great Team dinner while cheering on their favourite NHL players on TV, and watching Don Cherry.
In the semi-final on Sunday morning, the Soo. came out much more aggressive, and kept the game close. However, with some power play time in the third period, the Preds scored some timely goals, and came away with a 6-2 victory.
That win set for a rematch against the host North Bay Trappers in the finals. The players were not to be denied the Championship and defeated North Bay by a score of 4-0.
Thanks to the Coaches, parents and families for a great weekend. The players had a blast !!
