Harborcenter Cup 2017
The North Central Predators played in the Harborcenter Cup Minor Bantam AAA tournament this weekend in Buffalo.  A summary of the weekend is provided by Austin H.
The Preds tied their first game played on Friday October 13 against West Seneca Wings.  The Preds had the lead for most of the game, scoring unanswered goals in the first and third periods.  However, the team failed to hold onto their lead and to capitalize on their power play opportunities.

West Seneca Wings scored two goals in the last three minutes to tie the game.  Austin noticed that the team needed to work on moving quickly to be the first to the puck and to create additional offense.

The Minor Bantam Predators played a solid second game on Saturday October 14, winning 2-1 against the Mississauga Rebels.  The team gave a more consistent effort than their first game with positive results on the score board.  They created offensive opportunities and were first to the puck on many of the plays.  The Predators scored first and came back with a second goal after the Rebels tied it up in the second period.  Despite the pressure from the Rebels in the third period, the Preds were able to hold onto their 2-1 lead and win the game.

The Minor Bantam Predators' third game against the Tri-City Spartans was lost 3-0.  The Spartans came on strong in the first period with two goals and scored another in the third period.  The Preds skated with them but were unable to create offensive opportunities and score goals.

The Minor Bantam's third game at the Harborcenter Cup was a 1-0 win on Sunday October 15 against the Pittsburgh Vengeance.  The first and only goal of the game came with four minutes left in the first period.  Despite the pressure that the Predators applied against the Pittsburgh team with more shots on goal, they were unable to score additional goals but kept their lead.

Next up for the Minor Bantams is two home games next weekend.
