Exhibition Home and Home vs. Grey Bruce Highlanders
The Elmvale Home Building Centre Major Atom AAA Predators played a home and home series vs. the Grey Bruce Highlanders over the weekend to wrap up our exhibition games.
The coaching staff was pleased with the effort that the players brought forward to both games. We continue to see that the players are learning from practice and applying it in game situations. We still have work to be done in order to be prepared for the start of the season, however we are well on our way to having a great year.
We played Saturday afternoon in Midland with the Grey Bruce Highlanders applying a lot of pressure early on in the game. We managed to hold them back and control the later part of the game coming out with a slim 2-0 victory.
The North Central Predators came out strong on Sunday in the first period knowing full well that the Highlanders playing in their first home exhibition game would be hungry for revenge from the loss on Saturday. We came out with an early 2-0 lead at the end of the first. The early lead did not slow the Highlanders as they continued with a high level of pressure in the second scoring the next goal and keeping right with us in the game. In the end the Predators would find themselves victorious once again winning the game 4-2.
We will now take the week to prepare for the season opener vs. York-Simcoe Express at St.Andrews College on Saturday followed by our Home Opener on Sunday vs. Quinte Red Devils.
