The McLean & Dickey Insurance Major PeeWee team travelled to Peterborough this past weekend to participate in the Boston Pizza Tournament.
The Boston Pizza Tournament in Peterborough was another great bonding weekend for players and families.
It was a great start to the Round Robin portion of the tournament, with 4 great games. The passion and desire was no more evident than in the final round robin game against Huron Perth. The game was tight checking and full of excitement, until the 5th overtime, in front of a packed arena, settled the game. After going 3-0-1 in the Round Robin, the team played the host Peterborough Petes in the Quarter-finals. The team played another tight checking game against Peterborough, and came away with a 4-1 victory.
The Semi-final game was against a new opponent in the Ottawa Valley Titans. Although the weekend ended in defeat to the Titans, the team played a hard fought 6 games, and had a lot of fun and excitement over the weekend.
The team now prepares for a home game next Saturday afternoon against Kingston, before travelling to Whitby next Sunday.
